Initiation of Partnership with the 261 Stores of the Market-In Supermarket Chain
DirectPay, a company with a rich history in payment services, recently inaugurated its brand-new offices in the center of Athens, marking a new era for the Payment Institution. Previously known as ARGO, DirectPay was founded in 1996 and has held a Payment Institution license since 2011. After accumulating decades of experience and expertise, the company changed ownership in December 2023 and, with a new management team, offices, and corporate identity, is moving forward with renewed vigor. With its extensive experience and revitalized energy, DirectPay aims to become a leading force in the payment services sector in Greece. The company focuses on providing innovative and reliable payment solutions, catering to both individuals and businesses. One of DirectPay’s main activities is representing the American multinational electronic money transfer company MoneyGram, which operates in over 200 countries worldwide. During the inauguration, Mr. Alex Holmes, Chairman CEO of MoneyGram International, was present and stated: “It is a special pleasure and honor to come to Greece and inaugurate the offices of DirectPay, one of our top representatives globally.” In addition to MoneyGram services, DirectPay offers bill payment services through DirectPay myBills and deposit services at all banks in Greece and the EU through DirectPay myBank. This enables retail networks, such as supermarkets, as well as individual stores, to become one-stop shops for their customers, as they can now offer financial services in addition to their existing products and services. A recent partnership with the Market-In supermarket chain exemplifies this. Since early July, the 261 Market-In stores have been providing additional financial services, including bill payments via myBills and MoneyGram transfers. DirectPay services are now available at over 1,000 locations across the country.
